General Outdoor Education Teacher

This position is for a qualified and experienced educator to deliver Year 11 and Year 12 ATAR, General Outdoor Education at a secondary school.

The successful applicant will be responsible for teaching Years 9-10 Outdoor Education and Year 11 Essential and Foundation Mathematics, as well as organising two 3-day camps during Term Two, including a Year 11 Expedition that returns on a Saturday.

They must be able to use regular breaks to run excursions, raise the skill set to run activities like camping, hiking, canoeing/kayaking, abseiling, rock climbing and bushwalking, and apply appropriate risk management and emergency response protocols.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality outdoor education programs for students in Years 11 and 12.
  • Teach and coordinate outdoor education activities for students in Years 9-10.
  • Organise and lead two 3-day camps per year, including a Year 11 Expedition.
  • Develop and implement engaging and challenging lessons for students.
  • Assess student progress and provide feedback.
