Job Opportunity
Position OverviewWe are seeking a skilled and experienced Blast Crew member to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess strong skills in blasting operations, explosives management, and teamwork.
Key Responsibilities- Dipping, priming, loading, stemming, and tie-in of blast patterns to achieve daily objectives safely and efficiently.
- Ensure the safe use, storage, security, transport, and handling of explosives in accordance with statutory and procedural requirements.
- Operate ancillary equipment such as stemming loaders.
- Work collaboratively with the blast team to meet daily operational targets.
- Previous experience as a Blast Crew or Bench Hand in Coal or Quarries.
- Standard 11 (or willingness to obtain) certification.
- QLD Explosives Security Clearance Card (or ability to obtain).
- Experience in open-cut mining environments.
- RIIBLA201E - Support Shotfiring Operations (desirable).
- Strong team attitude, communication skills, and commitment to safety.
- Fitness for demanding work and ability to pass pre-employment medical checks and national background checks.
