Network Security Expert

This is a dynamic and challenging role in the Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO), where you will be responsible for ensuring the security and integrity of our information systems and networks.

As a Network Security Expert, you will analyze and define IT systems security requirements, implement solutions, plan and track projects, and coordinate inter-agency efforts in the areas of network security and interoperability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Apply business process engineering concepts and methods to lead or conduct studies; designing and implementing solutions to maintain and enhance the security of OCIO information systems and networks, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, port and VLAN level filtering, network monitoring, compliance tools, audit logging, password management, anti-spam and virus systems, patch management systems, and other related security systems and processes (on-premise and cloud).
  • Develop policies and procedures to ensure reliability, accessibility, and to prevent unauthorized access to systems, networks, and data; conducting risk and vulnerability assessments; and performing systems security evaluations, audits, and reviews.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Five (5) years of progressive experience performing related duties such as conducting end-to-end cybersecurity monitoring to identify and mitigate risks; identifying network improvements and making recommendations to enhance system security (on-premises and cloud). Certifications such as CISSP, CompTIA Security+, or CEH are preferred.

The successful candidate will have excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
