Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Community Planning professional to join our team as a Community Strengthening Planner. This is a full-time, fixed-term position in our Community Development team. As a Community Strengthening Planner, you will play a key role in designing and implementing strategies to enhance community services and facilities.

You will work closely with other Council departments and the community to plan and deliver community infrastructure projects and strengthen neighbourhood connections. This involves collaborating with stakeholders to identify community needs and develop solutions that meet those needs.

In this role, you will be responsible for collating and analysing demographic data to inform community planning decisions. You will also prepare needs assessments for community facility projects and funding submissions.

Key Skills and Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience in project management methodologies
  • Experience in managing customer-facing projects involving engagement with a range of stakeholders
  • Demonstrated experience in contract management, including delivering multiple projects in a medium to large corporate environment
  • Tertiary qualification in social sciences or Certificate IV in Project Management, coupled with substantial experience in community planning and engagement
