Job Description

Avenues Australia is seeking a skilled and experienced Team Leader to support the growth of our client base in Perth and contribute to the development of Mental Health Practice. You will lead a team of Recovery Coaches to achieve organisational objectives and improve the achievement of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor, mentor and supervise a team of Recovery Coaches.
  • Manage the day-to-day activities of the team.
  • Conduct regular staff check-ins, team huddle meetings and supervision meetings.
  • Ensure high-quality service delivery by monitoring the implementation of service delivery tasks.
  • Provide input for service delivery improvements to the team and leadership.

Business Development

  • Research and build relationships with referral sources such as other service providers and community mental health services.
  • Pursue leads and convert them into clients.
  • Build the brand name of Avenues Australia through good and fruitful relationships and professionalism.

Psychosocial Recovery Coaching

  • Support clients and carers to understand their NDIS plan, goals and objectives.
  • Develop, implement, monitor and adjust a personal recovery plan with clients.
  • Support clients to build recovery-enabling relationships based on hope.
  • Coordinate supports in an individual's NDIS plan by researching, coordinating and managing complex and intersecting supports to suit individual needs across multiple providers while ensuring client choice and control.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of the NDIS service system.
  • Strong understanding of concepts such as choice and control, dignity of risk and safeguarding.
  • Knowledge of mental health diagnoses and symptoms, treatments, medications, interventions, regional mental health and allied health providers.
  • Sound understanding of the causes of stigma and barriers faced by those with mental ill-health.
  • Understands the episodic nature of mental illness and collaborates with relevant services to plan and maintain engagement through periods of increased support needs.

  • Will be responsible for identifying challenges to achieving team KPIs such as billable hours and quality services as well as strategies to overcome them.
  • Will be willing to understand the NDIS Pricing Arrangements and Price Limits Guide in detail, as well as NDIS Operational Guidelines.
  • Will promote Avenues Australia as a premier NDIS Psychosocial Recovery Coach provider to participants and other external stakeholders.
