Eligibility to Apply: To be eligible for appointment,
applicants must have a valid working visa (for fixed term
appointments) or be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or
have a visa to live and work indefinitely in Australia (for
permanent appointments).

WA Health policies require applicants to
undertake a criminal records screening and integrity checking as
part of the appointment process.
As well as undertaking a criminal
record screening and integrity checking, you may also be required
to undertake a working with children check (if required for the
role) and a pre-employment health assessment.

to comment on your integrity and past demonstration of ethical
behaviour.

Whilst this selection
process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy, it may
also be used to fill other "similar" vacancies throughout the
health service.
In addition to this, should the successful
applicant decline or vacate the advertised vacancy, then the next
most suitable applicant may also be selected from this process.
Both of these options remain valid for a period of twelve (12)
months from when the authorised delegate endorses the
recruitment decision.
Position
Profile: The Director Mental Health is responsible for the
development, planning, policy, strategic direction and system-wide
communication of mental health services on behalf of the System
Manager.
This includes providing leadership to relevant taskforces
and the development, implementation and evaluation of strategies,
policies and guidelines to support mental health reform
initiatives.
The Director will coordinate
with Health Service Providers (HSPs), the Mental Health Commission
and key government agencies, manage relationships with key
stakeholders and ensure the efficient and effective management of
resources.
The role is also responsible for ensuring high-quality
mental health services across the WA health system and identifying
critical gaps in meeting the increasingly high levels of need
amongst the WA population.
