As a key member of our technical team, we are seeking an experienced Operations Engineer to provide high-quality technical and operational support for customer infrastructure and subscriber technologies/systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Primary responsibility for the overall technical operation and maintenance of systems and subsystems of the P25 system for Metropolitan Mobile Radio (MMR).
  • High-end technical, engineering, and upgrade support for main systems and subsystems used on the P25 and associated Core systems and Remote Sites, Console Dispatch System, Voice/Telephony Logging Systems associated LAN/WANs, external interfaces, and Network Management Systems.
  • Technical escalation point for Network Operations Control Centre (NOC) staff and Field Engineers requiring technical assistance.
  • Advice and support to customers and internal stakeholders, including availability via phone and physically to Motorola stakeholders/users requiring technical assistance.
  • Regular on-call roster participation for after-hours call out to resolve urgent system problems.
  • Support for after-hours planned maintenance and system upgrade activities.
  • Standard Operational and Help Desk operating procedures follow-through; accurate logging and updating of all Help Desk tickets using incident/call tracking software.
  • Escalation to management of systemic issues that are operational and customer impacting to engage further engineering support for root cause and resolution.
  • Production and/or update of 'as-built' documentation for supported systems, as required.
  • Preparation and documentation of standard operating procedures and protocols.
  • Ensuring supported system installation and configuration is in accordance with documentation and Motorola Quality Installation Standards.
  • General support and training to Motorola stakeholders from time to time.
  • Other duties assigned by the Operations Manager or other applicable management staff.
