Job Opportunity for Mechanical Engineering Technician

We are seeking a skilled professional to fill the role of Mechanical Engineering Technician in our Specialised Transport and Lifting team based in Naval Base, Western Australia.

  • This is an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated individual with strong mechanical engineering skills and experience in assembly, disassembly, setup, and configuration of Self-Propelled Modular Trailers (SPTs).
  • The selected candidate will be responsible for overseeing inspection and maintenance of machines and plant, ensuring they are in good working condition.
  • A key aspect of this role is the ability to understand technical and engineering documents related to SPTs and transport operations.
  • The successful applicant will work closely with Mechanical Engineers to prepare drawings, plans, and designs for SPT and transport operations.
  • In addition, the candidate will perform pre-start checks and routine maintenance on SPTs and demonstrate trouble shooting skills.

Requirements:

  • AQF Associate Degree, Advanced Diploma or Diploma in a related field.
  • At least two years of work experience in a similar role.
  • A safe working record and strong work ethic.
  • Ability to work unsupervised and as part of a team.
  • White/Blue card and ability to pass a Pre-employment Medical and Drug & Alcohol Screen.
  • Previous experience in the Specialised transport industry and exposure to alternative lifting methods is desirable.
