Current Opportunity

As a Senior Manager at BDO, you will utilize your analytical, research, and organizational skills to promote compliance with auditor independence rules and regulations. You will work closely with stakeholders and colleagues to deliver key independence, conflicts, and ethics projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Apply auditor independence rules and regulations to scope of services, personal independence, and business relationships.
  • Perform a management role in assigned independence, conflicts, and ethics projects.
  • Understand changes to policies, procedures, rules, and legislation by attending webinars, reviewing exposure drafts, and providing input.
  • Project map current and future states to identify potential enhancements to existing policies and procedures.
  • Design and develop tools, policies, and processes, and socialize them with relevant stakeholders.
  • Liaise with the Project Manager to formalize a communication and learning plan.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in understanding revised auditor independence standards and implementing changes.
  • Strong knowledge of independence rules and regulations.
  • Demonstrable experience in a similar role in a Professional Services firm.
  • Outstanding people leadership skills.
  • Hands-on approach, willing to action day-to-day tasks to relieve pressure points for the team.
  • Ability to quickly get up to speed with internal policies and procedures relating to independence, conflicts, and ethics.
  • Excellent project management skills and ability to multi-task across various projects.
  • Experience in drafting communication and developing learning modules.
