Production Manager

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Production Executive to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering successful productions, managing vendor relationships, and providing exceptional support to the production team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Contracting and Legal Compliance: Assist with drafting employment contracts for cast, touring crew, and musicians, and assist with casual crew contracting for the pre-production and operating period of the production.
  • Onboarding and Staffing Support: Assist with the employee onboarding process for Creative and Production personnel across all self-produced productions, including contract creation, hiring, payroll, and expense processing.
  • Vendor Management: Manage vendor relationships, payment processing, and negotiate contracts for vendors such as audition venues, accommodation providers, and event teams.
  • Travel Management: Manage travel arrangements for transfer crew, local production team, and international team members, and manage immigration requirements for production and creative staff.
  • Production Scheduling: Assist with scheduling and time-line requirements for productions, including long view production strategy, and manage updating of schedules.
  • Marketing, PR, and CSR Support: Conduct market and budget research, assist on external events, provide support on CSR, PR, and marketing-related activities, and oversee booking of House seats if required.
  • Budget and Financial Management: Manage the updating of the EFC, report internally and to DTG in NY, and provide coding and ensure accurate and timely raising of Purchase Orders, GR's, and invoices for payment.
Requirements:
  • Knowledge and Skills: Proven ability to manage personnel, knowledge of the creative process in live theatre, and excellent time management and organisation skills.
  • Experience: Minimum of three years' experience in the theatre industry, with at least two years at Production Executive level.
  • Personal Qualities: Pro-active, a self-starter who is able to work without daily supervision, effective and discrete communicator, and strong team player.
