Visiting Medical Officer

Our Health Service is seeking an experienced and skilled Visiting Medical Officer to join our team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated medical professional to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, providing high-quality care to patients in need of urgent and acute care at home.

Job Description:

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing daily support to the care team in the review, triage, and care provision to people referred to the service who are at risk of hospitalisation. They will also provide daily support, review and clinical intervention for people admitted into Hospital in the Home (HITH) under the care of a CCLHD Admitting Medical Officer (AMO) in Gosford and/or Wyong Clinic, with the capacity to provide outreach visits to Residential Aged Care Facilities (RACFs).

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Medical Practitioner registered or able to be registered in Australia
  • Recognised specialist qualifications, Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians or Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners and/or other equivalent specialist recognition
  • Appropriate experience to practice as a Senior Medical Practitioner in General Medicine or General Practice
  • Ability to work constructively and effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment, demonstrating excellent interpersonal and communications skills
  • Demonstrated willingness and ability to lead and supervise medical and surgical trainees, residents and medical students
  • Previous experience in teaching the management of the deteriorating patient would be advantageous
  • Demonstrated interest in quality improvement methodologies
  • Demonstrated commitment to caring for the coast vision, goals and strategies, with demonstrated behaviours which align to the NSW CORE Values and CCLHD Values and Behaviours charter
