Infrastructure Design Expert

We are seeking a skilled Infrastructure Design Expert to join our team.

You will play a key role in the design of Council infrastructure on new subdivisions and developments, providing engineering expertise to ensure compliance with planning permit conditions, PSPs, 173 agreements, and Council and EDCM standards.

  • Review Town Planning Applications and set planning permit conditions
  • Review engineering plans for compliance with planning permit conditions, PSPs, 173 agreements, and Council and EDCM standards
  • Provide professional advice in relation to subdivision development
  • Review engineering cost estimates to calculate plan checking, supervision, maintenance and outstanding works bonds as required
  • Attend site visits
  • Liaise with developers, consultants and other key internal and external stakeholders

Requirements:

  • Degree in Civil Engineering (Bachelor of Engineering)
  • Demonstrated knowledge of civil engineering design and construction principles
  • Knowledge of Acts, legislation, Australian Standards, council bylaws and codes of practice for municipal infrastructure within Local Government
  • High level of analytical skills for assessment and evaluation of development proposals
  • Strong conflict resolution and negotiation skills
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and engineering design plans
  • Continuous improvement mindset with a positive, proactive and flexible attitude
