Role Overview

We are seeking a values-driven Specialist Family Violence Practitioner to provide specialist response to high-risk cases of family violence identified through Victoria Police. You will work with men who have perpetrated family violence, providing intensive and holistic short-term interventions.

This role is part of our effort to address immediate safety issues and provide advice, referrals, and connection to assist the recovery journey for women and children experiencing family violence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure clients receive non-judgmental, holistic support that demonstrates the values of The Salvation Army
  • Demonstrate commitment to justice within the workplace and community
  • Build effective working relationships with Victoria Police members and embed specialist family violence and perpetrator interventions across a multidisciplinary team
  • Co-review and co-triage family violence incidents with Victoria Police Family Violence Investigation Unit
  • Conduct intake and assessment, on-going risk assessments, and develop comprehensive support and safety plans
Requirements
  • Tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology, or equivalent
  • Minimum two years' family violence service experience or in-depth understanding of family violence frameworks
  • Current and Valid Employee Working With Children's Check
  • Current Full Australian Driver's Licence
  • Victoria Police Security Checks
