Port Equipment Specialist

The Diesel Fitter is a skilled professional responsible for ensuring safety and return on investment.
This role involves carrying out repairs, maintenance and installations to port equipment and services. The successful candidate will be able to work independently and as part of a team to achieve key outcomes.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain and operate port wharves, plant and equipment.
- Ensure prompt repair of breakdowns to miscellaneous plant.
- Service and maintenance to port vessels and maintenance equipment.
- Operate engineering machinery.
- Provide records of time and materials utilised, prepare materials lists and complete inspection check sheets.
- Direct employee work allocated by supervisor or leading hand.
- Actively provide positive input and solve day-to-day job problems.
- Ensure compliance with port procedures and assist with Job Safety Environmental Analysis (JSEA's).
- Perform periodic inspections and testing of emergency equipment.
- Liaise with commercial outlets for work-related products.
- Participate in port emergency responses and associated training.
