Financial Reconciliation Specialist

As a key member of our finance team, you will be responsible for delivering accurate and timely balance sheet reconciliations and identifying system / process issues impacting financial reporting integrity.
The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills are essential in this role.
Key Responsibilities- Reconciliation Management
- Deliver accurate and timely balance sheet reconciliations.
- Identify and investigate system / process issues impacting financial reporting integrity.
- Journal Preparation
- Prepare month end journals in an accurate and timely manner.
- Reconciliation Clearance
- Ensure reconciliations are prepared, reconciling items identified, followed up and cleared within agreed timeframes.
- Problem Solving
- Responsible for investigating, clearance and reporting of reconciling items.
- Process Improvement
- Identify and document system / process issues.
- Review data processed into the general ledger and ensure it is appropriately supported.
- Communication and Liaison
- Act as a primary point of contact for general ledger reconciliation services to designated customer (departments) and stakeholders.
- Tertiary qualifications in fields of business, accounting and/or economics is essential.
- Experience of general ledger and bank reconciliations is essential.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and procedures.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- A minimum of two years of experience in a finance role is viewed positively.
- Previous knowledge and experience in the ERP system are preferred.
- Proficiency in MS Office including intermediate Excel skills.
- Customer service focus to both internal and external stakeholders.
