A leading financial institution is looking for a seasoned infrastructure specialist to oversee a high-performing team in Sydney. This hands-on leadership role requires someone who excels at resolving complex infrastructure challenges and is passionate about creating secure, scalable, and automated systems that support a world-class trading operation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Take ownership of critical infrastructure across the APAC region
  • Set direction for infrastructure best practices and automation
  • Work closely with global teams
  • Balance deep technical work with leadership, strategy, and stakeholder engagement
  • Drive improvements across systems like VMware, Windows Server, NetApp, and more
  • Enable fast, reliable, and secure trading environments at scale

Requirements:

  • Experience leading or mentoring technical teams
  • Strong background in infrastructure, particularly Windows Server management & Virtualisation
  • Hands-on experience with C#, PowerShell or Python, Terraform (or keen to learn)
  • Experience with enterprise systems like Active Directory, NetApp, Windows Server
  • Understanding of modern observability tools (SCOM, Grafana, Prometheus, InfluxDB, etc.)
  • Clear communicator and team player - someone who can lead with influence
