Job Title: Youth Development Officer

Central Highlands Regional Council is seeking a passionate and dedicated Youth Development Officer to join our team. As a key member of our Communities Department, you will play a vital role in advocating for youth within the region and creating opportunities for their empowerment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Engage with youth, school, and community groups to advocate on behalf of young people.
  • Plan, promote, and deliver various youth events across the region.
  • Undertake administrative tasks, including program development, procurement, risk assessments, project plans, and reporting.
  • Partner with stakeholders and represent the council at activities, forums, and programs.
  • Provide information, resources, and referrals to young people and their families to enable informed decision-making.
Requirements:
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders.
  • Experience in organizing, promoting, and delivering events, functions, programs, or meetings.
  • Queensland Working with Children Blue Card.
  • Minimum Queensland C class provisional driver's license.
  • Competent skill level in Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn new systems.
