Our team is embarking on an ambitious project to transform the energy landscape in Western Australia, creating a more sustainable future through large-scale renewables development and innovative solutions.

As the largest electricity generator and energy retailer in the region, we deliver secure electricity throughout the Southwest Interconnected System from Coral Bay in the north to Esperance in the south.

The Government Relations Advisor role supports us in fostering strong relationships with local government stakeholders, driving engagement with Western Australian Local Governments and Members of Parliament at State and Federal levels.

This position assists in executing Health, Safety, and Environment activities across our Gas Generation locations, providing on-site support through processes, advice, and technical assistance to ensure compliance and safety standards are met.

**Key Responsibilities Include:**

- Developing and managing a coordinated strategic engagement plan for local government authorities

- Engaging in face-to-face and virtual advocacy with local government authorities

- Assisting or leading in developing responses to Commonwealth and State Government matters as required

- Building strong relationships with the Minister's office and enabling clear, timely accurate routine engagement

- Engaging with Members of Parliament and their staff on matters relating to our business in a coordinated, positive, and proactive manner

**Requirements:**

- Demonstrated experience working in ministerial liaison/government relations or communication/public affairs (3-5 years)

- Sound understanding of legislative frameworks

- Experience evaluating corporate communications in line with policy implications

- Robust understanding of the current Australian political, legal and policy landscape
