Job Title: Strategic Procurement Expert

This position focuses on minimising total cost of ownership, improving service quality, and enhancing supplier performance.

The role will involve developing and implementing regional procurement strategies for the Eastern Region. Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and implementing regional procurement strategies
  • Identifying opportunities to reduce costs and improve services
  • Negotiating supplier agreements
  • Analysing market trends and developing category knowledge
  • Managing strategic procurement projects with cross-functional impact
  • Overseeing supplier performance, quality, customer support, and price management
  • Building new supplier relationships and developing alternative sources and solutions
  • Ensuring alignment with national and global procurement strategies and agreements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in procurement or operations in an industrial or manufacturing setting
  • Experience in strategic sourcing, supplier management, and contract negotiation
  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams
  • Strong proficiency in data analysis, market benchmarking, and decision-making
  • Ability to identify opportunities, drive process change, and overcome resistance in complex environments
  • Familiarity with ERP/procurement systems (e.g., SAP, Ariba)
  • Willingness to travel within NSW and ACT
  • University degree in engineering or business administration (preferred)
  • CIPSA student or full membership is preferred
