About this opportunity:

This is a rare chance for an experienced financial professional to lead a remote team of skilled accountants, ensuring high-quality and compliant financial record-keeping.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver training to remote team members in line with established best practices
  • Manage and delegate work across the remote accounting team
  • Review and approve work completed by remote team members in line with established best practices
  • Provide mentorship and performance feedback
  • Work Allocation & Quality Control: Review completed work for accuracy, completeness, and compliance
  • Reporting & Compliance: Oversee the preparation of financial reports and assist with reconciliations, BAS, payroll, superannuation, and tax filings
  • Nurturing client relationships, acting as the key contact for a subset of clients

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years of accounting/financial experience in an Australian context
  • Proven experience managing teams, ideally including offshore staff
  • Proficiency in Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks, Microsoft Excel and other relevant software
  • Strong knowledge of Australian tax (BAS/IAS), payroll, superannuation, and compliance practices
  • Excellent attention to detail, organisational ability, and communication skills
  • Degree in Accounting or relevant certification (CPA / BAS Agent / equivalent) preferred
