About the Role

The RFDS operates over five bases within Western Australia, providing housing for employees in regional areas. The Facilities Coordinator leads coordination for our Jandakot base and supports the Facility Manager and regional Base Admins.

  • Identify and assess potential contractors for facility management.
  • Schedule and coordinate service providers and contractors.
  • Develop and implement maintenance programs to prevent downtime.
  • Manage documentation and record-keeping.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement and seek funding for these projects.
  • Support development of proposals for minor/major expenditures.
  • Manage project implementation in consultation with stakeholders.
  • Oversee health, safety, and environmental aspects of facilities management, conducting site safety inspections.
  • Develop annual plans for maintenance, repair, and equipment procurement.
  • Coordinate projects, minor building works, and infrastructure improvements.
  • Support staff movement into regional housing locations.
  • Procure services and manage invoicing.
  • Provide support to regional Base Admins and Facilities Manager.
  • Cover for the Facilities Manager in their absence.
  • Travel to regional bases for leave coverage, inspections, and project support.
  • Handle facilities emergencies after hours according to roster and on-call allowance.
About You
  • Experience in facility or contract management.
  • Qualifications in construction or property management.
  • Able to work effectively in a changing environment.
  • Understand ethical issues in procurement, including conflict of interest, competition, and transparency.
  • Strong financial and budget management skills.
  • Well-developed planning and implementation skills.
  • Ability to travel to regional bases.
