Project Director Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Director to lead the delivery of operational activities across a portfolio of reform initiatives. This role offers exposure to legislative implementation, stakeholder engagement, and the opportunity to contribute to national projects.

As a Project Director, you will be responsible for leading planning and implementation of assigned project deliverables, allocating resources and managing day-to-day project activities, monitoring progress, escalating risks and issues, and ensuring transparency.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead planning and implementation of assigned project deliverables
  • Allocate resources and manage day-to-day project activities
  • Monitor progress, escalate risks and issues, and ensure transparency
  • Develop project documentation and reports to required standards
  • Maintain project governance and scheduling
  • Engage stakeholders and represent the agency in various forums
  • Provide analysis on complex issues and contribute to policy and project coordination
  • Supervise and develop team members, encouraging career growth
About You:

You are a proactive and collaborative leader with strong communication skills and a commitment to public service values.

Mandatory Requirements:
  • Demonstrated experience managing similar-sized projects within the past 3 years
  • Strong understanding of multiple project delivery methodologies
  • High-quality written communication skills
  • Experience with MS SQL, data warehouse modeling, and Power BI is a plus
  • Proven ability to manage stakeholders across a geographically dispersed network
  • Analytical skills to drive change and business improvement
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams and promote professionalism
  • Personal integrity and ability to work within legislative and policy frameworks
  • Australian Citizenship
  • Baseline AGSVA clearance
