Compliance Oversight Leader

The Compliance Oversight team is responsible for protecting our licence to operate. We shape the authorising environment through operational advice, compliance policy development and training.

This role plays a critical role in supporting our compliance program by ensuring effective and timely identification and investigation of potential incidents, and leading on process improvements to mitigate the risk of future incidents occurring.

In this position, you will reinforce our licence to operate by providing strategic advice to senior management and stakeholders, and assuming accountability for complex and sensitive work.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead, plan and manage our oversight function, including advising the senior executive on complex and sensitive operational matters;
  • Cultivate and maintain partnerships with internal and external stakeholders, including external oversight bodies, and represent us at relevant internal and external meetings and activities relevant to the oversight function;
  • Lead and manage a team, including providing clear and consistent communication, setting clear performance and behavioural standards, managing performance, delegating responsibility and guiding and developing people.
  • Support the senior executive through the provision of high quality written and verbal briefings including regular submissions.

Our Compliance and Strategy branch protects our licence to operate and shapes our authorising environment.

We promote a strong compliance culture through the provision of operational advice, compliance policy development and training. We also perform a critical role performing oversight of our internal activities as well as engagement with external oversight bodies.

We represent our interests across the National Intelligence Community and broader strategic forums and policies, including advocacy around our legislative environment, input to government reviews and reforms to support our activities, and legislation relevant to our interests.
