Job Title:

Head of Department - Christian Development Full Time Position Available

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced educator to lead our Christian Development department as Head of Department. As a senior leader, you will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of curriculum across Years 7-12, as well as contributing to Stage 6 Studies of Religion.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead the development and implementation of curriculum for Christian Development across Years 7-12.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of Stage 6 Studies of Religion.
  • Work collaboratively with the Christian Development/Chaplaincy team to support teaching and learning.
  • Collaborate with staff to implement the school's mission and values.
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • Experience as a secondary school educator in teaching Christian Development Years 7-12 and Stage 6 Studies of Religion.
  • Theologically qualified at a Diploma level or higher.
  • Enthusiasm about your subject and the ability to inspire secondary age students.
  • Flexibility in working with a range of student abilities.
  • Knowledgeable of recent developments in the theory and practice of senior secondary pedagogy and specifically how this applies to your subject area.
  • Experience in leadership in curriculum development and implementation of new syllabuses.
  • Highly developed communication and collaboration skills.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with the Christian Development/Chaplaincy team.
  • Confidence in the use of technology and a willingness to embrace it to enhance learning in the classroom.
  • Understanding of and commitment to the School's Christian mission, values, and ethos.
