Job Title: Corporate Governance Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Corporate Governance Manager to lead our Secretariat function. This role is responsible for coordinating parliamentary and ministerial matters, managing high-level relationships with government officials, and undertaking significant liaison on behalf of the Commission.

About the Role

This is an exceptional opportunity for a motivated and results-driven individual to join our team. As the Corporate Governance Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • Maintaining strong relationships with Commission board and sub-committee members, including acting as the main liaison and support for the Board Chair.
  • Managing and coordinating Secretariat functions for the Commission's Board and sub-committees, including developing agendas, editing meeting papers, and preparing meeting minutes.
  • Coordinating and preparing ministerial briefings, Senate Estimates Briefs, responses to Questions on Notice, submissions, and other parliamentary documents.
  • Collaborating with the Director, Intergovernmental Relations, to manage the Commission's submission of papers to the Health Chief Executive's Forum.
  • Maintaining strong working relationships and acting as the key Commission liaison with the Australian Government Department of Health.
  • Managing responses to Freedom of Information requests.
  • Contributing to the organisation's strategic planning by playing a role in developing the Work plan, Annual report, Corporate plan, and Annual performance statements.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • Demonstrated highly developed communication and interpersonal skills, including managing stakeholder relationships and consulting with a wide variety of stakeholders.
  • Excellent writing and editing skills, including providing high-quality secretariat support and writing high-quality briefs, meeting papers, and government documents.
  • Able to manage and deliver multiple, high-profile organisational priorities with conflicting deadlines within tight timeframes.
  • A professional attitude, commitment to personal integrity and accountability, and ability to exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality.
