Role Summary:

We are seeking a Communications and Patient Advocacy Manager to develop and implement comprehensive communication and advocacy strategies across various therapeutic areas, including CRM, Immunology, Haematology, Oncology, and Neuroscience. This position will report to the Country Head of Communications and Engagement and will involve close collaboration with cross-functional teams to foster strong relationships with patient advocacy organizations.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Designing and executing a communication strategy that aligns with business objectives and enhances patient outcomes.
  2. Overseeing the creation of communication materials such as press releases, blog entries, and social media content.
  3. Building and nurturing relationships with patient advocacy groups to ensure ongoing dialogue and collaboration.
  4. Working with cross-functional teams to incorporate patient insights into strategic planning.
  5. Facilitating patient engagement initiatives, including advisory boards and forums, to promote meaningful patient participation.
  6. Providing guidance to Novartis staff on patient communication standards while ensuring compliance with ethical and regulatory requirements.
  7. Managing external agencies and campaign budgets to achieve outstanding results.
  8. Evaluating the effectiveness of communication campaigns and advocacy efforts, generating insights for future strategies.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in communications, either in-house or within an agency setting.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience in crafting and executing strategic communication plans in a complex corporate landscape.
  • Direct experience with patient advocacy groups and a thorough understanding of advocacy principles and regulatory considerations.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex scientific information in an accessible manner.
  • Strong relationship-building and stakeholder management capabilities.
  • Proficiency in utilizing digital platforms and social media for patient engagement.
  • Analytical skills to assess the impact of communication and advocacy initiatives.
  • A proactive and inquisitive mindset, adept at navigating complex challenges.
