Job Title: Rural Area Installation Technician

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced installation technician to join our team. As a rural area installation technician, you will be responsible for installing optic fibre cables in remote locations across regional NSW.

This is a challenging role that requires the ability to work independently in remote areas, often with limited access to amenities. You will need to have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and be able to work effectively with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Install optic fibre cables in remote locations using hand-held tools and machinery
  • Rod, Rope & Hauling – hauling multiple cables by hand & machinery, quality checks
  • Civil activities – repair blockages, operate plant and equipment such as dozer, excavator, vacuum trucks, winches, mobile cranes and HR trucks
  • Labouring duties – cut and repair fences, undertake excavation using hand and mechanical methods
Requirements:
  • Current Construction White card
  • HR Heavy Rigid truck license (beneficial but not essential)
  • Operator & VOC Excavator (beneficial but not essential)
  • Senior first aid certificate (beneficial but not essential)
  • Work safety at heights (beneficial but not essential)
  • High Risk License (beneficial but not essential)
  • Vehicle loading crane (beneficial but not essential)
