About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Mental Health Worker or Peer Worker. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with lived experience of mental health issues to achieve their hopes and dreams.

As a Mental Health Worker, you will work closely with our team to provide person-centered support, empowering individuals to maintain their wellness and realize their goals. You will be responsible for creating opportunities and activities that meet the interests and needs of our clients, while also ensuring that individual support is provided in a strengths-based and person-led manner.

As a Peer Worker, you will bring your lived experience and personal recovery to inform and contribute to staff learning, service understanding, and delivering person-led, strengths-focused, recovery-based service. You will use your expertise to mentor individuals with a lived experience of mental health issues, while also promoting a culture of recovery and empowerment within our organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide person-centered support to individuals with lived experience of mental health issues
  • Develop and implement individualized support plans that meet the unique needs and goals of our clients
  • Collaborate with our team to ensure that individual support is provided in a strengths-based and person-led manner
  • Use your lived experience and personal recovery to inform and contribute to staff learning, service understanding, and delivering person-led, strengths-focused, recovery-based service
  • Mentor individuals with a lived experience of mental health issues, promoting a culture of recovery and empowerment
Requirements
  • A Certificate IV or above in a relevant field OR a minimum of 2-years full-time experience working in the human services field
  • A strong commitment to recovery-based practice in the workplace
  • Understanding of the challenges faced by people with a lived experience of a mental health issue
  • Demonstrated alignment to Flourish Australia's values
  • Understanding of, and ability to effectively use, Microsoft Office and knowledge of data information management systems
  • Maintain a current Australian Driver's Licence
