**Job Title:** Support Specialist in Community Care

Job Description: We are seeking Casual Support Specialists to work in Bundaberg within the following settings:

• Complex Care - High Care: Providing high-quality support to participants living with complex care needs, including mobility, health, and communication. This includes assisting with personal care and attending medical appointments and leisure activities.

• Complex Care - Behaviour Support: Working in an environment where you provide high-quality support to participants living with complex needs, including mental health, behaviour support, and communication challenges. You will be required to implement restrictive practices safely and ethically.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Assisting clients with personal care needs, such as feeding, showering, and dressing.
  • Helping clients learn new skills and socialise in their local community.
  • Administering medication and preparing nutritious meals.
  • Maintaining a non-judgmental approach and having strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Working shift work (morning, afternoon, night) and split shifts throughout the day.
  • Collaborating with CLS specialists and allied health professionals to better understand individual needs and improve quality of life.

Requirements:

  • Certificate III (or higher) in Individual Support (Disability/Aged Care/Home and Community Care) or 2 years relevant industry experience.
  • Current Yellow Card or NDIS Worker Screening Check.
  • Current Blue Card.
  • Driver's Licence with own reliable vehicle (minimum third-party property damage insurance).
  • First Aid and CPR certificate.
  • High level of written and verbal communication skills.
  • Documenting or journaling experience (preferred).
