Executive Director of Renewable Energy Strategy

This role offers the opportunity to lead a high-impact programme that drives Western Australia's decarbonisation efforts and delivers cleaner, more reliable energy for communities across the state.

The Clean Energy Link programme is a critical initiative that will accelerate the transition to a sustainable energy future. As the Executive Director of Renewable Energy Strategy, you will be responsible for setting the vision for transmission expansion and ensuring alignment with State and Federal energy and emissions goals.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading the orchestration of complex, large-scale transmission projects that will power WA for decades.
  • Securing funding and influencing policy, engaging with government, regulators, and industry to drive outcomes.
  • Overseeing portfolio optimisation and assurance, ensuring programmes are on time, on budget, and compliant.
  • Building and inspiring high-performing teams, driving a culture of excellence, innovation, and collaboration.

To succeed in this role, you will need to demonstrate:

  • Proven leadership in delivering large-scale transmission or generation infrastructure projects.
  • Strategic capability to navigate complexity, shape policy, and influence diverse stakeholders.
  • Deep understanding of decarbonisation drivers, electricity markets, and infrastructure delivery.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills – from boardrooms to project teams.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Business, Economics, or related fields (postgraduate highly regarded).
  • Ability to lead programmes of work that run simultaneously.
