Combat Systems Engineer Role

The successful candidate will contribute to the development of guided-missile destroyer requirements baseline and delivery of updated specifications as part of a broader Destroyer Capability Enhancement upgrade.

  • Contribute to and execute combat system systems engineering activities supporting requirements analysis, architecture definition and development of subsystems and components.
  • Develop, maintain and update system functional and non-functional requirements and design artefacts.
  • Prepare for and support execution of major program milestones such as design reviews, test readiness and system readiness reviews.
  • Develop, prosecute and support implementation of approved engineering changes.
  • Interact with specialty engineering disciplines for achieving design assurance and holistic system compliance.
Key Skills and Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Proven experience in systems engineering lifecycle methods, tools and techniques.
  • Able to work effectively in an engineering project multi-disciplinary environment, preferably within the defence industry.
  • Strong understanding of development methodologies on complex modern systems using a documented process.
  • Integration, test and evaluation activities of naval platforms or complex military systems desirable.
  • Combat System requirements within a maritime context desirable.
  • Knowledge or understanding in one or more of the C4ISREW or Combat System Warfare Domains i.e. Anti-Air Warfare, Anti-Submarine Warfare and Anti-Surface Warfare desirable.
