Aquatic Program Coordinator - Swimming Instructor

City of Mandurah Recreation Centres are seeking enthusiastic and motivated individuals to fill vacancies within the Mandurah Aquatic and Recreation Centre Swim School.

We are looking for people who enjoy working with children and are committed to teaching quality Learn-to Swim programs (from infants 6 months to 4 years and up) in a safe, friendly and professional environment.

The successful candidate will have the following key skills and experience:

  • AUSTSWIM or equivalent teaching qualifications or Royal Life Saving Society Teachers (RLSS) Certificate
  • AUSTSWIM or equivalent teacher of Infant Aquatics qualification (Desirable)
  • Previous experience in swim teaching or instruction
  • Sound communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision, and as a team member
  • RLSS Resuscitation Certificate
  • Senior First Aid Certificate (Hold current qualification or be willing to obtain)
  • Current RLSS Bronze Medallion (Hold current qualification or be willing to obtain)
  • Current National Police Clearance (less 6 months) and Working with Children's Check (or willingness to obtain)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach Learn-to Swim programs to children of various ages and skill levels
  • Assist with the development and implementation of aquatic programs
  • Provide excellent customer service to swimmers and their families
  • Work collaboratively with other staff members to achieve program goals
