Job Description:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced finance professional to lead our Financial Analysis & Planning team for 12 months.

As the leader, you will play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality financial planning, analysis and reporting. You will lead a team of finance professionals and work collaboratively across the organisation to ensure good financial management practices and delivery of Council's statutory budget development and reporting requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the development and delivery of Council's annual budget, long-term financial plan and 10-year capital works plan.
  • Provide strategic financial insights and reporting to the Executive Leadership Team and Councillors.
  • Drive continuous improvement in financial systems, processes and reporting.
  • Facilitate financial modelling, scenario analysis and stress testing.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, accounting standards and Council policies.

Requirements:

To be successful, you will need:

  • A tertiary qualification in accounting, business or commerce.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a similar role, preferably with government experience.
  • Proven leadership and team development skills.
  • Strong analytical, communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
  • Experience in financial systems improvement and business partnering.
