About Rural Enterprises:

Rural Enterprises is a leading agricultural business operating in the Eyre Peninsula region of South Australia. We are seeking an experienced and skilled farmhand to join our team on a permanent, full-time basis.

Salary: $35-$40 per hour

About the Role:

  • This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with experience in cropping and livestock production to work on a 2850ha mixed property producing wheat, barley, canola, lentils, oats, and medic pasture, as well as managing approximately 2500 sheep.
  • The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with all duties associated with the production of cereal, grains, and pulses, as well as livestock management.
  • Operating large broadacre machinery, including a Patriot 4450 self-propelled sprayer, Morris air-seeder, Case headers, Vennings 28t Chaser, and GPS systems, will also be a key part of this role.
  • Machinery maintenance and workshop duties will be undertaken by the successful candidate.

About You:

  • We are looking for someone with experience in operating large broadacre machinery and a good aptitude for machinery maintenance.
  • Previous cropping experience and understanding are essential, while previous stock experience is desirable.
  • The ability to pre-plan and operate efficiently, basic record-keeping skills, and a clean driving record (C-manual license) are also required.
