Position Overview

The Financial Operations Accountant plays a crucial role in assisting the Senior Financial Accounting Manager with the precise and timely execution of internal financial tasks and reporting. This includes managing Balance Sheet and Bank reconciliations, overseeing Asset Management, updating lease expense forecasts, and handling month-end journal entries along with utility accrual control.

Key Responsibilities

General Duties

· Assist the Senior Manager of Financial Accounting in effectively overseeing all financial accounting transactions, which encompass banking administration, credit card management, and cash flow oversight.

· Aid in the efficient closure of financial periods.

· Ensure effective communication and fulfillment of Global accounting requirements for the APAC region.

· Drive process enhancements and efficiencies, contributing to Global technology initiatives.

· Maintain stringent bank account controls to safeguard access to bank accounts and credit card facilities.

· Collaborate with various finance functions both regionally and globally.

Accounting Responsibilities

· Participate in the month-end process, ensuring accurate cut-offs for month-end and year-end in compliance with Foot Locker’s accounting policies, US GAAP, and local statutory regulations.

· Support audit-related activities, including SOX compliance and quarter-end/year-end processes.

· Ensure timely and accurate execution of Merchandise, Expense, and Lease Accounts Payable functions for the APAC region, fostering strong vendor relationships for regular settlement processing.

· Maintain the integrity of the sub-ledger, ensuring timely and accurate data entry, managing payments, monitoring cash flow impacts, and resolving aged items.

· Collaborate with the Global team to keep Asset Registers current and ensure capital accruals are addressed.

· Execute general ledger accounts assigned to the role, including monthly balance sheet reconciliations and month-end journal entries and accruals (such as freight and credit cards).

· Compile detailed records to facilitate the timely and accurate execution of external statutory returns, including GST, FBT, and Group (Income) Tax, while overseeing the year-end statutory audit process and submissions to relevant agencies in each jurisdiction.

· Monitor compliance with applicable legislative, regulatory, licensing, insurance, ethical, corporate governance, and industry standards for corporate and retail entities in the Pacific region.

· Ensure that processes are thoroughly documented and that documentation is consistently maintained.


Qualifications

· Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting, or relevant Accounting/Business Certification.

· 3-5 years of relevant work experience.

· Proficient in English (both verbal and written).

· Advanced skills in MS Excel.

· Potential for growth within the finance sector.

· Strong communication skills.
