Position Overview

The Financial Operations Accountant plays a crucial role in assisting the Senior Financial Accounting Manager with the precise and timely execution of internal financial activities and reporting, including Balance Sheet and Bank reconciliations, Asset Management, lease expense forecasting, and month-end journal entries along with utility accrual management.

Key Responsibilities

General Duties

· Assist the Senior Manager of Financial Accounting in overseeing all financial accounting transactions, including banking operations, credit card management, and cash flow oversight.

· Facilitate efficient financial period closures.

· Ensure effective communication and fulfillment of Global accounting requirements for the APAC region.

· Drive process enhancements and efficiencies, contributing to Global technology initiatives.

· Manage bank account controls to maintain the integrity of access to banking and credit card resources.

· Collaborate with various finance functions both regionally and globally.

Accounting Responsibilities

· Support the month-end process, ensuring accurate cut-offs for month-end and year-end in compliance with Foot Locker's accounting policies, US GAAP, and local statutory requirements.

· Assist with audit-related activities, including SOX compliance and quarter-end and year-end processes.

· Ensure timely and accurate processing of Merchandise, Expense, and Lease Accounts Payable functions for the APAC region, maintaining strong vendor relationships for regular settlements.

· Oversee the maintenance of the sub-ledger, ensuring timely and accurate data entry, managing payments, monitoring cash flow impacts, and resolving aged items.

· Collaborate with the Global team to keep Asset Registers current and clear capital accruals.

· Execute the general ledger accounts assigned to the role, including monthly balance sheet reconciliations and month-end journal entries and accruals (including freight and credit cards).

· Contribute to the preparation of detailed records for the timely and accurate execution of external statutory returns, including GST, FBT, and Group (Income) Tax, while overseeing year-end statutory audit processes and submissions to relevant agencies in each jurisdiction.

· Monitor compliance with relevant legislative, regulatory, licensing, insurance, ethical, corporate governance, and industry standards applicable to corporate and retail entities in the Pacific region.

· Ensure that processes are thoroughly documented and that documentation is consistently maintained.


Qualifications

· Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Accounting, or Accounting/Business Certification

· 3-5 years of relevant work experience

· Proficient in English (both verbal and written)

· Advanced skills in MS Excel

· Potential for growth within the finance field
