Job Summary

This role offers a unique opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of vulnerable families. As a Child Welfare Specialist, you will be responsible for managing a caseload of families and providing intensive in-home support to prevent child abuse and neglect.

The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of the social context of child abuse and neglect, as well as the ability to engage with families experiencing complex needs. You will work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to provide comprehensive assessments and develop effective intervention plans.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a caseload of families and provide intensive in-home support to prevent child abuse and neglect
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of families and identify their strengths and needs
  • Develop and implement effective intervention plans in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders
  • Provide parenting support and education to enhance parents' confidence and capacity to care for their children
  • Collect and maintain accurate data and case records in accordance with program guidelines
Requirements
  • Demonstrated understanding of the social context of child abuse and neglect
  • Ability to engage with families experiencing complex needs
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Social Work or related discipline
What We Offer
