Brisbane, Queensland, Australia beBeeChemicalEngineer Full time $30,000 - $40,000

Imagine a career where innovation and exploration go hand-in-hand. As a Process Analytical Chemist / Chemical Engineer, you will be at the forefront of developing cutting-edge technologies that are changing the landscape of science and industry.

At our company, we're helping to pioneer technology that's literally out of this world with the IRmadillo – a FTIR spectrometer originally designed for a mission to Mars. We're seeking bright, ambitious graduates (or soon-to-be graduates) to join our journey and apply their scientific skills in real-world settings, learn fast, and make a tangible impact from day one.

We thrive on collaboration, embracing mistakes as stepping stones, celebrating creativity, and driving progress through teamwork. Your ideas won't just be heard - they'll shape the future. Whether you're in the lab or on-site with customers, you'll gain hands-on experience across the business while helping to develop industrial processes using spectroscopy and analytical chemistry.

As a key member of our team, your responsibilities will include analysing customer samples in the lab, building chemometric models to demonstrate the IRmadillo's capabilities, and working directly with customers to implement and troubleshoot models. You'll also support the sales team by explaining spectroscopy and understanding customer chemistry, and help customers integrate spectrometers with their plant control systems.

Main Responsibilities:

• Analysing customer samples in the lab to create datasets for model development
• Building chemometric models to demonstrate the IRmadillo's capabilities
• Working directly with customers to implement and troubleshoot models
• Supporting the sales team by explaining spectroscopy and understanding customer chemistry
• Helping customers integrate spectrometers with their plant control systems

What You'll Need to Succeed:

• A degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, or a related field
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to spot trends or issues in data
• A proactive, flexible attitude and willingness to learn and contribute across the team
• Awareness of the chemical and biotech industries
• Interest or basic understanding of chemometrics (don't worry—we'll help you learn)
• Practical experience with spectroscopy, analytical chemistry, or chemical processes (e.g., through coursework, projects, or internships)

Benefits:

You'll be part of a fast-growing company where every component you handle has the potential to travel across the globe (or beyond). With a close-knit team, your ideas will shape the future. We foster an environment where everyone can contribute confidently, making mistakes as opportunities to learn and grow. Our values drive us forward: teamwork, continuous improvement, evidence-based decision-making, and a relentless pursuit of progress.
