Job Summary

Miya Services is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Social Worker to join our team. As a Social Worker, you will play a vital role in providing support and assistance to vulnerable individuals, families, and communities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Community Engagement: Collaborate with individuals, families, and community organisations to develop and implement effective solutions to social problems.
  • Needs Assessment: Assess the needs of individuals, families, and communities to determine appropriate interventions and resources required.
  • Counselling and Support: Provide counselling, support, and advocacy to individuals and families in crisis.
  • Program Development: Develop and deliver community education and outreach programs.
  • Resource Development: Work with government agencies, community organisations, and funding sources to secure financial support for programs and services.
  • Program Evaluation: Conduct research and evaluate programs and services to assess their effectiveness.
  • Administrative Tasks: Maintain accurate case notes, client files, and program statistics.
  • Professional Development: Attend meetings, training seminars, and workshops to maintain professional development.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in social work or a closely related field.
  • Qualifications: Professional license or certificate in social work.
  • Skills: Strong communication, active listening, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience: Ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
  • Knowledge: Knowledge of social welfare and community development policies and practices.
  • Skills: Strong organisational, problem-solving, and time-management skills.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience: Experience working in a community-based, nonprofit organisation.
