Procurement Officer Job Description

Civilmart and Infrastructure Products Australia (IPA) have come together under the global parent company CRH to strengthen Australia's civil infrastructure supply chain by combining their expertise and capabilities in precast and civil concrete manufacturing. We are seeking a driven Procurement Officer who will oversee the end-to-end procurement and supply of materials for custom precast concrete products across Civilmart and IPA projects.

The successful candidate will work closely with internal teams and suppliers to ensure production runs smoothly, on time, and to specification. Key responsibilities include managing material supply, negotiating contracts, driving cost savings, and ensuring compliance.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Manage the procurement process from sourcing to delivery
  • Negotiate contracts with suppliers to secure best prices
  • Drive cost savings initiatives to improve profitability
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations

Requirements:

  1. A demonstrated track record in supplier and spend management within a construction or manufacturing environment
  2. A demonstrated understanding of core procurement principles in sourcing, spend management, contracting, negotiation, and the impact of the external environment
  3. A demonstrated ability to identify, plan, and deliver savings initiatives
  4. Previous experience in managing suppliers of construction raw materials, mobile equipment, production equipment, packaging, or general business services
  5. A proactive individual who will engage with stakeholders on complex matters of planning, scheduling, resource allocation, and obstacles to success
