We are a contractor with 30 years of experience in the water, bridges, transport and infrastructure industry sectors. We design and deliver projects in Australia and New Zealand.

Projects include dams, bridges, tunnels, water and wastewater treatment process facilities, rail infrastructure, mining infrastructure, electrical substations and pipeline rehabilitation: complex infrastructure needed to build better communities.

About the opportunity
We are seeking an Environmental Specialist to join our project teams working on key infrastructure upgrades in Dapto, Pitt Town, and Blacktown. These roles will see you embedded on-site, supporting the delivery of complex civil works including major road upgrades, new bridges, intersection improvements and flood resilience infrastructure. You will play a key role in ensuring these projects meet environmental compliance and sustainability targets while helping to deliver long-term benefits to growing communities.

Day-to-day responsibilities:

  • Provide operational environmental guidance across both projects, fostering a culture of best practice and compliance
  • Develop, review and support construction environmental management plans, environmental risk assessments and sustainability management plans
  • Conduct risk assessments, inspections and audits, investigating any incidents to ensure prompt resolution
  • Identify and manage environmental risks while ensuring compliance with all obligations
  • Offer technical input to support the tender process
  • Educate and build our project teams' knowledge of environmental requirements
  • Liaise with clients, government bodies and regulatory authorities on environmental matters
  • Establish, monitor and report on key performance indicators for sustainability and environmental objectives throughout the project lifecycle

Required skills and qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience as an Environmental Advisor within Civil Construction
  • Qualifications in Environmental Science or a related discipline, with in-depth knowledge of environmental legislation and regulatory frameworks
  • Proven expertise in applying and managing environmental standards, particularly ISO 14001, across complex high-profile projects
  • Outstanding communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence negotiate and build strong relationships
  • A strategic mindset to foresee risks implement proactive solutions and ensure top-tier environmental compliance and sustainability
  • Ability to integrate environmental objectives into project goals fostering a culture of environmental excellence
