New Acland Coal Mine, a thin seam open cut mining operation, is owned and managed by New Hope Group. With a strong commitment to sustainability and environmental responsibility, NAC has played a key role in the Darling Downs region as an employer and economic contributor since its inception in 2002.

We are seeking a dayshift only 7/7 Operations Trainer and Assessor based on site at NAC. This position will involve training and assessing new and existing workers with a focus on improving safety. The Operations Trainer and Assessor will oversee training for the Production and Maintenance teams to ensure operational standards are met.

About the Role:
  1. Conduct training and assessment activities which align with the Training Needs Analysis for Operational Teams (Production and Maintenance)
  2. Hold and maintain qualifications, and be authorized, for the task/activity for which you are conducting training and/or assessment activities or utilization of relevant technical expertise
  3. Report on training attendance and quality of training provided
  4. Support training of new starters and new to industry programs
  5. Review training materials on a regular basis
  6. Liaise with workplace supervisors, Training Advisor and other workplace trainers and assessors, conduct approved assessing functions as required
  7. Ability to use the approved software and systems to access, read, and print training documentation as required
  8. Process approved training documents as required
  9. Assist with audits and reviews
You Will Bring:
  1. Experience on a range of heavy mobile mining equipment (3 or more) – Excavator, Loader, Dozer, Grader, Dump Truck etc.
  2. RII or Signed verified machinery skills list (training transcripts)
  3. Experienced Mining Production Operator (Minimum of 5 years' experience)
  4. Demonstrated experience as a field trainer assessor
  5. EITHER Certificate IV in Training and Assessing (TAE40116 or TAE40122) or Enterprise Trainer Certification
  6. You will also hold or be willing to obtain relevant certifications including Supervisor Competencies (S1/2/3)
  7. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  8. Time management skills and ability to complete tasks in a timely manner
  9. Attention to detail
