We are seeking a highly skilled Backend Engineer to join our team and help us revolutionize how large teams utilize and administer our product. As a key member of our Admin Experience Group, you will be responsible for designing and leading scalable backend systems that support our admin experiences across everything from large, complex enterprises to growing SMBs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • ">
  • Design and lead the development of scalable backend systems that support our admin experiences.">
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand multi-team admin needs, spot opportunities for system improvements, and turn them into scalable, reliable solutions.">
  • Mentor and support other engineers in their technical growth and development.">
  • Shape admin user experiences by exploring product ideas, testing what's technically possible, and building solutions that meet the needs of large-scale organizations.">
  • Help teams navigate ambiguity by identifying trade-offs, guiding technical direction, and bringing clarity when the product scope is still evolving.">
  • Champion operational excellence by resolving tricky backend issues, improving observability, and jumping in as part of our on-call rotation.">
  • Guide architecture decisions for high-volume, high-data services to ensure they are robust, scalable, and enterprise-ready.">
  • Bring in fresh thinking by staying across industry trends and sharing ideas that lift how we build at our company.">

Requirements:

  • ">
  • 5+ years of experience as a Staff or Principal Engineer with deep backend expertise in JVM-based languages such as Java or Kotlin.">
  • Experience designing and leading backend strategies for large-scale distributed systems optimized for availability, performance, and reliability.">
  • Systems thinking and ability to thrive in ambiguity, using sound judgment to drive clarity and align cross-functional teams on complex challenges.">
  • Technical leadership and multiplier skills, mentoring engineers, raising engineering standards, and championing scalable, maintainable practices across multiple teams.">
  • Ability to work seamlessly with senior stakeholders, shaping long-term technical direction, and influencing product strategy through strong partnerships.">
  • Disciplined software development skills, from thoughtful architecture and testing to documentation and clean code practices.">
  • Skilled communication skills, translating evolving product goals into clear technical strategies and executable milestones.">
  • Bonus: Experience with Protocol Buffers and hands-on experience with AWS services such as DynamoDB, SNS, and SQS.">
