Job Opportunity: Simulator Technician

This is an exciting opportunity to work as a Simulator Technician. As a critical member of our team, you will be responsible for maintaining the Australian Super Hornet and Growler Simulator equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct preventative and corrective maintenance on simulator equipment, including scheduled servicing, component removal/installation, visual system alignment, mechanical alignments, and calibrations.
  • Perform power-on/system initialization and preparation activities to ensure training devices are ready for training.
  • Repair components and sub-components in the workshop.
  • Support tactical operations flight trainer recurrent/special evaluation activities.
  • Maintain compliance with environmental, health, and safety policies, plans, and procedures.
  • Ensure Foreign Object/Control awareness and compliance with control systems.
  • Perform maintenance according to the EATS Maintenance Management Plan (MMP).

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Certificate IV in Avionics or Information Technology.
  • Prior relevant experience required in a similar role.
  • Training courses on simulator-specific systems/technology desirable.
  • Sound understanding and appreciation of safety requirements.

The successful applicant must have a sound understanding of the responsibilities and requirements of the role and be eligible to obtain and maintain a Negative Vetting Level 2 Defence Security Clearance as needed.
