Description: New Forests seeks a qualified candidate for the position of Financial Accountant - FP&A Specialist as maternity cover for 18 months. Reporting into the Group Financial Controller, this role will be primarily responsible for accounting and financial reporting. This is a hands-on role, ideal for a professional looking for an exciting challenge.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Prepare and review individual entity and consolidated group monthly, quarterly, and annual management reports for the ANZ, Asia, US, and Kenya businesses.
  2. Assist the Group Financial Controller with monthly budget vs actual vs forecast analysis at cost centre, entity, regional, and global consolidated level.
  3. Conduct revenue and expenditure analysis for ANZ, Asia, US, and Kenya.
  4. Monitor and ensure compliance with financial services licenses in ANZ, Asia, US, and Kenya.
  5. Assist the Group Financial Controller with financial analysis and special projects.
  6. Prepare the CFO report to the Executive team and Board.
  7. Prepare quarterly board reporting to internal boards.
  8. Assist in the annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting process.
  9. Manage relationships with stakeholders outside the finance team and report to external shareholders.
  10. Complete ad-hoc financial analysis for both internal and external clients.
  11. Liaise with the Governance team to complete shareholder queries.
  12. Evaluate, improve, and streamline reporting processes.
  13. Assist with projects within finance and across the business.
  14. Contribute to system implementation projects.
  15. Evaluate, improve, and automate reporting processes.

Qualifications, Experience, and Strengths:

  1. Hold an undergraduate and/or postgraduate degree in Accounting/Business or Finance.
  2. Be a qualified CA or CPA.
  3. Have proven experience with the FP&A team within a corporate finance team.
  4. Have a thorough understanding of Australian Accounting Standards.
  5. Demonstrate process improvement/re-engineering experience to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  6. Have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  7. Have superior attention to detail.
  8. Be a team player with strong stakeholder management skills.
  9. Be self-motivated and proactive with the ability to work independently, while thriving in a team environment.
  10. Have a planning mindset complemented by organization, prioritization, and documentation skills.
  11. Have advanced Excel skills.
  12. Have an interest in/knowledge of sustainability and impact investing, well regarded.
  13. Able to demonstrate core finance team capabilities: Client Focus, Cultivates Innovation, Collaborates.
