Job Description

This role involves building and maintaining positive relationships with individuals, their families, and support staff. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing personalized support plans that cater to the unique needs of each individual. They will also provide guidance and mentorship to support workers, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to deliver high-quality care.

The Development Worker will work collaboratively with colleagues and external partners to design and implement effective support arrangements. This may involve identifying gaps in services, mapping networks, and linking formal and informal support. Their expertise in social role valorisation and person-centered practices will be essential in guiding individuals through life transitions and helping them develop valued community roles.

Responsibilities

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Tertiary qualifications in social welfare or a related field
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar role within the disability or aged care sector
  • Strong understanding of Australian statutory and regulatory compliance in the disability sector
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
