Piacentini & Son is a leading earthmoving and mining contractor with a rich history of operations across Australia. With over 1000 employees, we offer a range of services including bulk earthworks, supply of mobile mining and earthmoving equipment, road haulage and mining rehabilitation.

We have recently been awarded a 9-year contract for Kimberley Mineral Sands Thunderbird Operations, a greenfield Mineral Sands mine located in the remote region of Western Australia. We are seeking an experienced operator to join our team as an All Round Mobile Plant Operator.

This permanent full-time opportunity will involve production-focused mobile plant operations at our KMS Broome site. You will work closely with other members of our site production team, reporting directly to the Production Supervisors.

Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for operating mobile plant equipment efficiently, maximizing productivity while maintaining a strong focus on safety. Key responsibilities include:

  • Operating mobile plant equipment to meet production targets
  • Completing required pre-start checks on machinery
  • Maintaining a high level of quality in work output
  • Working effectively within a team environment

In addition to these key responsibilities, you will also be expected to:

  • Hold a valid Australian driver's license
  • Display a clear commitment to the health, safety, and well-being of all employees
  • Be willing to undergo a pre-employment medical and drug/alcohol screen
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • 3+ years of experience in a similar role
  • Experience operating heavy machinery, including CAT excavators and loaders
  • Relevant machine operator tickets and/or VOCs
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
