Broome North Primary School (PS) is seeking to establish a pool of Primary Teachers for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2026 school year. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.

The Role

At Broome North PS, we welcome teachers who bring warmth, positivity, and a commitment to building strong, respectful relationships with students, colleagues, and families. We are looking for educators who believe in every child's potential and who create safe, predictable classrooms grounded in trust, connection, and high expectations.

We support explicit teaching practices that build student confidence and understanding in literacy and numeracy. You will be confident in using routines such as "Warm-ups" and "Daily Reviews" to strengthen memory and mastery over time. A strong understanding of the Gradual Release of Responsibility model will support your lesson planning, along with the use of TAPPLE for checking understanding, clear Engagement Norms, and the delivery of timely, supportive feedback.

We value educators who foster calm, regulated learning environments using proactive, strengths-based behaviour strategies. You will understand the importance of emotional safety, consistency, and co-regulation in supporting student engagement. A growth mindset, openness to coaching, and a willingness to reflect on and refine your practice are essential in our culture of collaboration and ongoing professional learning.

An interest or experience in working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander (ATSI) students is highly valued at our school. With 20% of our students identifying as ATSI, cultural responsiveness, respect for identity, and a strong sense of belonging are deeply embedded in our work.
