Senior Site Reliability and DevOps Engineer Role

This is a pivotal role that ensures the reliability and performance of live e-commerce transactions across our websites.

The ideal candidate will design and optimize infrastructure solutions to support large-scale, high-volume transaction environments. You will build and enhance CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment frameworks to accelerate software delivery.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Safeguard the availability and performance of live ecommerce transactions across our websites
  • Design and optimize infrastructure solutions to support large-scale, high-volume transaction environments
  • Build and enhance CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment frameworks to accelerate software delivery
  • Champion Infrastructure as Code practices using Terraform and Puppet
  • Partner with development squads to embed SRE and DevOps best practices into all ecommerce features and releases
  • Continuously monitor, troubleshoot, and improve system reliability and performance in a live, customer-facing environment
  • Implement modern observability, logging, and monitoring solutions to ensure uptime and transaction stability
  • Maintain robust security practices and compliance across infrastructure and applications
  • Research and introduce emerging technologies that advance reliability, scalability, and ecommerce performance

Requirements:

  • 6+ years' experience in DevOps or Site Reliability Engineering roles, ideally in live, high-transaction ecommerce environments
  • Strong expertise in Google Cloud Platform (Compute Engine, Kubernetes Engine, CloudSQL, Cloud Storage, IAM)
  • Deep understanding of scalability and resilience for websites handling real-time customer transactions
  • Strong proficiency with Linux Server (Red Hat, CentOS) with solid experience in Windows Server highly desirable
  • Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes orchestration
  • Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD or similar
  • Solid scripting and automation skills in Python, Bash, or PowerShell
  • Knowledge of networking, security best practice, and caching technologies (e.g. Nginx, HAProxy, Varnish)
  • Familiarity with observability and monitoring tools (ELK, Prometheus, Graphite, StatsD, etc.)
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a collaborative, pragmatic approach
