
Nurse Team Manager Position

Join our organization as a Nurse Unit Manager and lead a medical and surgical unit in delivering safe, person-centred care. You'll oversee clinical standards, workforce management, and quality initiatives, making a real impact on patient outcomes and staff development.
We are seeking a dynamic nursing leader to manage a 34-bed medical and surgical unit providing care in specialties including general surgery, gynaecology, orthopaedics, general medicine, and palliative care. As Nurse Unit Manager, you will be accountable for delivering safe, high-quality patient care while overseeing people, operational management, and resource allocation.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide advanced clinical leadership and direction to achieve high-quality, person-centred care.
- Lead and manage a team of over 38 FTE nursing and support staff, ensuring effective workforce planning.
- Drive quality improvement, risk management, and adherence to clinical governance frameworks.
Required Skills and Qualifications
We're looking for a collaborative, resilient leader with a passion for excellence in clinical care and team development. Proven experience leading surgical/medical units, including HR, rostering, is required.
- Advanced clinical knowledge and skills in surgical and medical nursing, with demonstrated problem-solving expertise.
- Strong communication and leadership skills to inspire, mentor, and build team cohesion.
